Scammer STEALS $200K From AI Bots Using Morse Code Trick

A sophisticated criminal successfully manipulated two artificial intelligence systems into transferring $200,000 worth of cryptocurrency by sending hidden instructions encoded in Morse code. The attack exposed critical security weaknesses in AI-enabled financial platforms operating on social media.

How the Digital Heist Unfolded

The perpetrator targeted two AI systems with cryptocurrency access: Grok, developed by Elon Musk’s company, and Bankrbot, an automated trading platform. Operating under the handle Ilhamrfliansyh, the attacker first sent a digital membership token to Grok’s wallet. This transfer expanded the AI’s permissions within the Bankr system, granting it capabilities to execute token transfers and cryptocurrency swaps that were previously restricted by security protocols.

After securing elevated permissions, the criminal prompted Grok to translate a Morse code message and relay the decoded content directly to Bankrbot. The translated message contained specific instructions commanding the bot to transfer 3 billion DRB tokens to the attacker’s designated wallet address. The decoded message was automatically treated as legitimate by the system, with no additional verification or human oversight to prevent the unauthorized transaction from executing immediately.

The Vulnerability That Cost $200,000

The transaction completed on the Base blockchain network, successfully moving the full token amount to the criminal’s wallet. Following the unauthorized transfer, the perpetrator immediately sold the DRB tokens on cryptocurrency exchanges. The large volume flooding the market caused the token’s price to plummet.
