Two Women KILLED in Long Island — Case TAKES Unexpected Turn

A 22-year-old illegal immigrant from El Salvador brutally murdered two women on Long Island within a three-hour span, leaving three children motherless and two families shattered. Rony Yahir Alvarenga Rivera, who entered the United States as an unaccompanied minor in 2016 under the Obama administration, confessed to police after committing the savage attacks.

Two Murders in Three Hours

Rivera first killed his 32-year-old roommate, Eddy Raquel Hernandez Castillo, at their Valley Stream apartment around 9 p.m. on Thursday, according to Nassau County police. Three hours later, at approximately 12:30 a.m. Friday, he ambushed and fatally stabbed 42-year-old coworker Ana Maria de Aguila Cordova, a mother of three from Long Beach, as she took out trash at an Island Park Wendy’s restaurant. Blood still stained the sidewalk outside the fast-food establishment days later, where grieving coworkers mourned their colleague.

After committing both murders, Rivera called police and calmly confessed that he had killed somebody. The admission led authorities to discover both crime scenes and connect the tragic deaths. Coworkers at the Wendy’s location expressed devastation over the loss, with one employee telling reporters she could not stop crying while pointing to where her friend had been killed.

Obama-Era Immigration Policies Under Scrutiny

Rivera arrived in America as an unaccompanied 12-year-old child in 2016, during the Obama administration’s handling of the surge in unaccompanied minors crossing the southern border. Critics point to this case as evidence of dangerous consequences stemming from immigration policies that prioritize entry over thorough vetting. Organizations supporting families who have lost loved ones to crimes committed by illegal immigrants, known as Angel Families, have documented numerous similar tragedies across the nation.

Calls for Border Security Reform

The murders have reignited debates over border security and immigration enforcement. Cordova’s three children now face life without their mother, while Castillo’s family mourns their loss. Advocates for stricter immigration policies argue these deaths represent preventable tragedies that result from inadequate screening of migrants entering the country. They demand enhanced deportation procedures, closed borders, and comprehensive reforms to prevent future incidents. The case underscores ongoing tensions between humanitarian immigration approaches and public safety concerns as communities grapple with the human cost of policy decisions made at the federal level.
