Doctor’s Garden UNEARTHS Chilling FIND

A Polish pathologist is in custody after construction workers dug up dozens of buried fetal remains in the garden of her former home — and she reportedly admits she put them there.

Story Snapshot

  • 34 human fetal remains were found buried in a garden in the Polish village of Lutoryż, near the city of Rzeszów, in June 2026.
  • A 57-year-old pathologist identified as Magdalena H. was arrested and told investigators she took the remains from a hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic for home research.
  • Prosecutors charged her with desecrating human remains and illegally dumping hazardous medical waste — charges that carry up to 12 years in prison.
  • Investigators found no evidence the fetuses came from illegal abortions, but the investigation is still ongoing and more burial sites may exist.

Construction Workers Uncover a Disturbing Scene

Workers doing earthwork at a private property in Lutoryż, Poland, made a grim discovery on June 10, 2026. Digging through the soil, they hit what appeared to be medical waste. Polish authorities were called in and quickly confirmed that the material included human fetal remains. By June 15, prosecutors announced they had identified the full or partial remains of 34 human fetuses at the site, along with tens of thousands of microscope slides and paraffin blocks used in medical testing.

The property once belonged to Magdalena H., a 57-year-old pathologist with no prior criminal record. She was detained on June 12 in Zamość, eastern Poland. Polish media initially reported that between 50 and 100 fetal remains might be found at the site. Prosecutors confirmed 34 as the official count, though excavations were still ongoing. Forensic teams were seen sifting through the soil around the 500-square-meter plot.

What the Doctor Told Investigators

Magdalena H. reportedly told investigators that she removed deceased fetuses from a hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic. She claimed she used them for medical research at her home. After the research, she allegedly placed the remains in bags and buried them on the property. Medical materials found at the scene — including tubes, microscope slides, and what appeared to be hospital records — appear to support her account of conducting some form of testing.

Prosecutors confirmed she admitted to transporting and burying the fetuses and other medical waste. However, a spokesman for the prosecutor’s office stated there is so far no evidence she obtained the fetuses through illegal abortions. The charges against her focus on desecrating human remains, improper handling of medical waste, and abandoning hazardous materials in an unauthorized location. She will remain in custody until at least September 10, 2026.

Questions That Still Need Answers

The investigation is far from over. Authorities are looking into whether other burial sites exist and whether anyone else was involved. The fact that tens of thousands of microscope slides were also found raises questions about the scale and duration of whatever work was being done. Prosecutors have not yet explained how a hospital pathologist could remove dozens of fetal remains without anyone noticing — or whether the hospital itself is under scrutiny.

Cases like this tend to move fast in the press and slow in the courts. The early headlines focused on the number of remains and the word “experiments,” which understandably alarmed the public. But the legal picture is more specific: the charges are about how the remains were handled and disposed of, not about how they were obtained. That distinction matters, and it is one investigators are still working to fully establish. For now, Magdalena H. faces serious criminal exposure, and the full story of what happened — and why — has not yet been told.
