The American Academy of Pediatrics is the top children’s health authority in the US.
It has been accused of pushing transgenderism on children by readily promoting hormones and puberty blockers/surgery, while also drowning out dissenting opinions, critics are raising alarm.
Besides that, as its leadership meeting is kicking off on Thursday, the AAP is said to be blocking attempts to review its “gender-affirming care” policy with respect to teenagers, The Daily Mail reported.
‘Gender of Choice’ in Full Force
The American Academy of Pediatrics maintains that its guidelines are based on scientific evidence, enjoy a scientific consensus, and are the best options for a group otherwise prone to suicide.
The guidelines in question provide for “reinforcing” a youth’s “gender of choice” by providing “gender-affirming care” in the form of hormones, puberty blockers, and surgery.
The AAP’s views inform the policies of the Biden administration in favor of transgenderism, as well as the work of 67,000 doctors affiliated with the organization.
American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is accused of promoting a drugs-first policy for youth who believe they are transgender, and for stifling debate over whether counseling and therapy would be a better approach. https://t.co/c1Tjecdlzx

Demi Lovato is now "detransitioning", which for her means switching pronouns (again).
Many kids she helped to misinform about transgenderism are not as lucky, and won't make it out without missing body parts.

‘Bombarded’ by Transgenderism
Against that backdrop, however, clinicians are quoted as saying the policies of the AAP are rushing teenagers identifying as “transgender” towards “life-altering” procedures, such as drug cocktails and surgeries.
According to psychotherapist Stella O’Malley, who is a member of a global organization of parents and clinicians called Genspect, there are “other ways” in which gender dysphoria can be treated.
She lambasted the policies of the AAP for overwhelming concentrating on the gender a child selects, instead of tackling his or her psychological problems.
Thus, the AAP oftentimes fast-tracks teens believing they may be transgender towards the “nuclear option” of medications and surgery.
In her words, “gender transition” causes a “heavy medical burden” on the patient’s body that can lead to a number of irreversible conditions, such as sterility, anorgasmia, and osteoporosis.
Dr. Erica Anderson is herself a trans clinical psychologist. She has been speaking out against the dangers of hasty “transitioning” and cautioned that school-age kids in the US nowadays are being “bombarded” online by influencers.
These influencers are seeking to convince them that typical teen anxiety about body image means that they are “transgender.”
She warned the approach of the AAP fails to differentiate between what is “gender-questioning youth” and what she called “persistently transgender youth.”
Back in March, five pediatricians published a resolution that insisted on carrying out a “rigorous systematic review” of the gender affirmation policy adopted by the AAP in 2018.
They warned that an increasing amount of youth who have “transitioned” – or “transitioners” – have gone on to regret the “transition” and have been seeking a “reversal.”
A procedural rule at the AAP has now made it impossible for the resolution to be voted upon at the organization’s leadership meeting, starting on Thursday in Chicago.
