Shocking Airplane Incident Triggers Immediate Investigation

Air travel hasn’t been the smoothest lately.

Just last week, a problem with the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) control systems led to domestic flights being temporarily grounded throughout the country.

Before that, the Christmas holiday season saw massive delays and cancellations of flights. Some people actually wound up missing out on spending December 25 with their loved ones.

This time, yet another problem with airlines has emerged. The problem pertains to planes with Delta and American nearly crashing into each other, per MSN.

What to Know About the Almost-Accident

This past Friday, flight Boeing 737 of Delta Airlines went right in front of an American Airlines flight that was getting ready to take off. Thankfully, the Delta pilot was told by air controllers to stop moving, which averted what almost turned out to be a terrible plane crash.

Nevertheless, Delta’s stop was somewhat sudden and unnerving to passengers aboard the flight.

One passenger reported feeling adrenaline and said others on the plane were silent during the incident. Afterward, travelers were relieved that nothing more serious transpired.

Though after this incident occured, the same flight experienced a delay, due to a scarity of available crew members. Later, Delta Airlines put out a statement that affirmed its commitment to keeping travelers and crew members safe.

Reports have since confirmed the Federal Aviation Administration will launch a probe into what happened, as will the National Transportation Safety Board.

More Problems For Travelers

These days, travel is getting more and more unpredictable. The US Transportation Department has also come under scrutiny for the growing number of complications that air travelers are dealing with these days.

It’s also been pointed out that flight delays, cancellations, and reported staff shortages come despite airlines getting tens of thousands in bailouts from the federal government in 2020.

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is now being called upon to take action and ensure that travelers don’t have to prepare for the worst everytime they arrive at the airport.

Amid the almost crash between American and Delta flights, plus continuous issues with air travel, Buttigieg has been criticized as unfit for the job. Thus far, there hasn’t been a concrete plan shared by the Department of Transportation to put a stop to travel issues.

Nevertheless, Buttigieg has claimed to be in contact with various airline executives. What this means and what the future of air travel will be in the United States still remains a mystery.

Are you surprised to learn that two planes almost crashed into one another with passengers on board? What results do you think the FAA’s investigation into this matter will produce? You’re more than welcome to let us know in the comments area how you see this all turning out.
