Democratic candidate Rev. Raphael Warnock is under fire due to the remarks that he made about Israel.

Orthodox rabbis speak out against the Democrat candidate just a few days before the Georgia Senate runoff due to the remarks he previously made about Israel.

In a letter to Warnock by Rabbi Avigdor Status from Savannah and Rabbi Ilan Feldman from Atlanta, they wrote, “We are concerned and hurt by how the Reverend brushed aside his past rhetoric against Israel and the Jewish community and even blamed his opponents for ‘trying to use Israel as yet another wedge issue,’” according to the report of Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Besides Rabbi Slatus and Feldman, the letter was also signed by out of state rabbis such as one from Coalition for Jewish Values.

For months the Democratic candidate has been dogging allegations against him. This includes the allegation of him being anti-Israel. This allegation is growing in number among Democrats, as they faced their left flank and has grown more ascendant.

In 2018, Rabbi Feldman cited a letter that Warnock had signed along with another clergy. In the letter, Warnock was comparing Israel’s presence in the West Bank to “military occupation of Namibia by apartheid South Africa.” The same year, in his sermon, Warnock also accused Israelis of shooting down “unarmed Palestinian sisters and brothers like birds of prey.”

Meanwhile, Warnock denied these accusations of anti-Semitism. He stated that his remarks were merely taken out of context. These Israel comments are not the first time that reverend Warnock was slammed by his fellow ecclesiastical.

Earlier this month, a group of conservative Georgia ministers also called him out due to his pro-abortion views.

The letter of the Georgia ministers for Warnock reads, “You have publicly expressed your views that abortion is an exercise of ‘human agency and freedom’ that is fully consistent with your role as a shepherd of God’s people,” they added, “We believe these statements represent grave errors of judgment and a lapse in pastoral responsibility, and we entreat you to reconsider them.”

In a separate story, Rev. Raphael Warnock’s ex-wife reported to the police that the Democratic senate candidate ran over her foot during a domestic dispute last March 2020. The ex-wife of Warnock also stated that the reverend is a “great actor.”

Ouleye Ndoyer, Warnock’s ex-wife, told Atlanta police that her husband ran over her foot during a domestic argument. According to the bodycam footage that was aired on Fox News, Ndoye told the police officer, “and all he cares about right now is his reputation.”

A tearful Ndoye also told the police, “I’ve tried to keep the way that he acts under wraps for a long time, and today he crossed the line. So that is what is going on here. And he’s a great actor. He is phenomenal at putting on a really good show.”

The footage was aired exactly two weeks before the runoff election on January 5, in which Warnock is running against incumbent Republican Senator Kelly Loeffler. This race against Warnock and Loeffler will determine which party will control Congress’s upper chamber in the coming year.

The video also shows Warnock telling the Atlanta police that his estranged wife summoned the officer and claimed that he ran over her foot as he was trying to drive away in his car.

At that time, the two were involved in divorce negotiations. The divorce has since been finalized.
