Republican senators have asked the Government Accountability Office (GAO) about the details of carbon emissions created by Biden for his travels, particularly the recent trip he took with his team to Glasgow, Scotland for the Climate Summit COP26.
GOP senators aim to hold Biden accountable for carbon emissions
Joni Ernst, Shelley Moore, and Tom Cotton (the GOP senators from Iowa, Virginia, and Arkansas) respectively wrote a letter to Gene Dodaro, the Comptroller General to the US.
In the letter, the senators asked Dodaro to collect the necessary information regarding carbon emissions to transport Biden, his 13 secretaries, and all the administrative staff to the climate summit and present the findings to Congress.
The senators argued while on one hand, Biden’s harmful policies are responsible for destroying energy sector businesses of the United States, on the other, he is relying on fossil fuels for transportation.
Due to this hypocrisy, all three senators encouraged the GAO to unveil the emissions for Biden’s travel.

The Republican senators also reprimanded Biden for canceling the Keystone XL pipeline that shattered the American energy sector and its associated 11,000 jobs.
Likewise, by lifting the sanctions on Russia’s Nord Stream 2 pipeline, the Biden administration successfully assisted American adversaries’ interests in the energy sector, the letter noted.
Later on, Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced the decision to loosen sanctions imposed on Russia for the Nord Stream 2 pipeline project; this helped Russia in completing the project to transport natural gas to Germany.
Biden’s climate hypocrisy was also exposed when he was seen traveling in an 85-car long motorcade on a tour solely dedicated to saving climate from greenhouse gases.
Biden believes in climate change only for political gains
The president has often championed the climate change agenda; however, he was seen sleeping during the COP26 summit. As this footage of Biden sleeping went viral during the event, he is in hot water with all stakeholders who were eager to see him participating in the top climate meeting.

Despite helping Russia in damaging the climate by uplifting sanctions, Biden also discouraged Putin from skipping the climate summit, which is an indication of the hypocrisy of Biden. This list of contradictions from him just keeps on getting longer and longer.
Contrary to his vocal approach, Biden decided to lease 78 million acres of offshore drilling in September. This is alarming to the stakeholders since Biden just lured the voters into the popular agenda of climate change for the sake of winning votes temporarily.
On the other hand, the president is pushing a Green New Deal in the upcoming social spending legislation. This Green New Deal proves the Democrat Party only believes in climate change as long as it is serving their political interests.
