Left-wing teachers unions tried to undermine parents who wanted to save their children from radical policies.
The California Teachers Association (CTA) spied on parents who tried to send their children to in-person schools amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Far-Left Attacks Parents
A parents’ rights advocacy group, ReOpen California Schools, which was created amid the rising coronavirus pandemic to protect children’s education, was consistently trying to reinstate in-person education in the state of California.
At a time when ReOpen California Schools and other activists were trying to open the schools of California without vaccine or mask mandates, CTA was busy spying on parents.
In this day in time, CA Teachers Union thought it was best to spy on the parents, because they wanted the school to open up.
The trust among parents has gone down 11%.

CTA claims to protect the interests of students and teachers while ignoring the role of parents in the education of their children completely. Reportedly, the CTA asked a researcher to spy on parents in San Diego.
According to the publicly available records, Ann Swinburn, a strategic research specialist, started spying on parents who were fighting a legal battle against CTA and California Governor Gavin Newsom.
Swinburn emailed two parents, Michelle and Adams, that she wanted to get more information about the parent’s association, which was trying to reopen the schools.
Responding to the email, Michelle stated she wants some other parents to be involved in the discussion of who can monitor the information sharing.
The next day, Michelle forwarded Swinburn’s email to some other parents, asking them for their consent to participate in the discussion.
All the parents were apparently ready to collaborate with Swinburn until Michelle realized that she mistakenly forwarded Swinburn’s email to a district school principal, Adam Camacho, instead of a parent named Adam Fischer.

California Children Remained Out of Schools Under Radical Policies
Due to the rigidness of far-left groups, California lacked in-person schooling even though educational institutions were open in most parts of the country.
Radical activists kept on campaigning for mandatory masks, rapid testing of children, and even some pro-climate change measures.
In 2020, a local union of the San Dieguito Union High School District (SDUHSD) and the CTA sued the SDUHSD, thus stopping the school district from reopening the schools.
Even though different parent associations tried to sue Newsom over school closures, the governor managed to keep the children away from schools.
The legal team of the CTA, led by the staff attorney York Chang, took different measures to stop the reopening of the schools.
Chang sent a letter to school district Superintendent Robert Haley, accusing the San Diego Office of Education of providing incorrect advice regarding the expansion of in-person education amid COVID.
CTA has a history of promoting radical policies against parents. One pro-CTA group, United Teachers of Los Angeles (ULTA), did opposition research against parents who were trying to send their children back to school.
By digging into the personal records of parents, ULTA launched a smear campaign against parents who were going against the far-left policies. It still remains unclear who sponsored the ULTA’s opposition research against parents.
