Pelosi Raised the White Flag, Admitting Defeat

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi raised the white flag on Friday evening after admitting a loss on the infrastructure bill, claiming that “more time is needed.”

Radical left members of the House threatened to sink the infrastructure bill unless they pass the socialist spending provisions

Although Pelosi previously vowed with House Democrats to pass the infrastructure bill, progressive members threatened to sink the bill unless it would be passed together with a spending measure.

This spending measure is known as the $3.5 trillion Build Back Better Act, which includes provisions relating to various social welfare programs.

Included among the Senate Democrat moderates are Krysten Sinema of Arizona and Joe Manchin of West Virginia. Both refused to give support to the $3.5 trillion Build Back Better Act. Thus, the bill is bound to fail when it goes to the Senate.

As such, it does not make sense for Pelosi to put more effort into passing the bill in the House. She was likewise forced to back down on the infrastructure bill, as radical left lawmakers insisted the measure go in tandem with the Build Back Better Act, or else they would vote against the infrastructure bill.

It can be noted that Pelosi previously promised to pass the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill before the month of September ended. However, due to the internal disagreements among Democrats, the hopes of Pelosi were shattered. This highlighted the diverging interests of the members of the Democrat Party.

McConnell: The Democrat Party failed to govern the U.S., despite being in control of the White House and Congress

Thus, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell threw fiery criticism against the Democrat Party. He said despite being in control of the White House and Congress, the Democrats failed to govern the country.

McConnell also pointed out how the Democrat Party failed to pass the infrastructure bill the president negotiated with Republicans and the House Speaker promised to pass. Meanwhile, McConnell threw the blame on Biden, stating the president surrendered to the far-left members of the Democrat Party.

The Senate Minority Leader likewise noted how the U.S. is facing a continued inflation rate; meanwhile, the Democrat Party held the much-needed infrastructure bill hostage in order to force people to pass their socialist agenda.

McConnell then lashed out against liberals for going through useless intra-party negotiations and alleged the White House is ignoring its basic sworn duty.

As the House Speaker failed to bind together the divided Democrat Party, Biden himself went to Congress. He tried to convince every member to vote for the infrastructure bill.

However, even the personal visit of the president did not result in any significant progress, as the House failed to pass the bill. Right now, the bill lacks the votes to pass the Senate as well.
