She is likely to publicly state her candidacy for president of the United States in 2024, becoming the second Republican to do so ever since former President Trump did so late in 2022.

The former U.N. ambassador will formally declare her candidacy for president in 2024, according to several sources who spoke with Fox News Digital on Tuesday.
Haley has been dropping hints about a run for the White House for several weeks, positioning herself as a youthful, more popular alternative to the past president.

The 51-year-old rose swiftly in the political landscape of the Palmetto State, establishing a track record as a straightforward conservative in the state’s House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011.
When Haley assumed office as South Carolina’s first female governor in January 2011, she also happened to be the youngest governor in the nation at the age of 39.
She would continue in service for two terms as the state’s only Indian-American governor.

She was the 29th American ambassador to the UN, serving in that capacity from January 2017 to December 2018. When Haley was elected governor of South Carolina, she vowed to do more to combat illegal immigration.
To that end, she signed legislation requiring officers to check the visa status of anybody they stop who they suspected of being present in the country unlawfully. A state law prohibiting abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy was also approved by her in 2016.
When responding to the Charleston shootings, in which nine African Americans attending a Bible study were shot and murdered by a supremacist, Haley garnered worldwide headlines in 2015.
The Confederate flag should be taken down from the capitol building grounds, the then-governor demanded.
