Nancy Pelosi Thinks Republicans Lost Election For Mocking Her Husband

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi gave a weird reason for Republicans’ unexpectedly poor performance in midterm elections. Pelosi asserted many Americans voted against Republicans because they mocked the hammer attack on her husband, Paul Pelosi, last month.

Nancy Pelosi Came With Strange Logic

Before the elections, many polls indicated that Republicans would have a sweeping victory in the midterm. As the GOP won fewer seats than expected, politicians are pitching in different reasons for the losses of Republican candidates.

CNN anchor Dana Bash asked Pelosi whether the attack on her husband impacted the voting decisions of people, considering that political violence has been rising in the United States.

The Speaker asserted she was dejected by the attack, as well as the reaction of Republican politicians after the attack.

According to Pelosi, Republicans’ response to the hammer attack on her husband may have turned off GOP voters in the midterm elections.

Likewise, Pelosi noted she was the actual target of the attacker, but her husband had to bear the consequences of the violence.

Furthermore, Pelosi argued Republicans’ disrespectful reaction to the tragic accident increased her suffering and trauma, adding no Republican is denouncing the horrible reaction of their party members.

In a separate show on ABC, Pelosi told host George Stephanopoulos that many people told her they were not planning to vote in midterm elections, but they only voted to denounce the increasing political violence in America after Paul’s attack.

Pelosi Slammed Republicans Despite Receiving Condolences From Them

Pelosi’s reaction came at a time when multiple Republicans condemned the attack on her husband.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell wrote that he was disgusted to hear about the attack on Paul Pelosi. Similarly, former Vice President Mike Pence, Senator Ted Cruz, and House Minority Whip Steve Scalise also condemned the attack.

However, some Republicans drew criticism from Democrats after trying to mock Paul Pelosi after the attack. For instance, Donald Trump Jr. shared an image of underwear and a hammer, noting this would be his Paul Pelosi-styled Halloween costume.

Trump Jr. was referring to an Instagram post, which established both Paul Pelosi and the attacker were present in underwear when the police arrived at the scene. Though different fact-checkers claimed both men were fully clothed when police came to rescue Paul.

Many Democrats also lashed out at Elon Musk, who tweeted a link to a conspiracy theory regarding the attack on Paul. After facing backlash from liberal circles, Musk deleted his tweet.

Paul Pelosi was attacked by a hammered man on October 28. As per the law enforcement authorities, Paul sustained injuries on his head and hand, for which he had to undergo surgery.

Although Paul is recovering quickly, Nancy Pelosi asserted he still needs time to get back to normal life.
