Democratic Senator Joe Manchin is refusing to say that he wants Democrats to win the 2022 elections.
Instead, he is aiming to work across the aisle and suggesting that he will be happy if Republicans capture Congress in the upcoming elections.
Recently, Manchin refused to say whether he would back Biden in the 2024 presidential elections or not.
Manchin Wants to See Republicans Trashing Democrats
Manchin remained frustrated with other Democratic lawmakers for most of the time in the current Congress, where his vote got significant importance in the equally divided Senate.
This led him to stand against the whole Democrat Party by denouncing the liberal faction of the party.
One of the primary differences between Manchin and Senate Democrats is the text of the Build Back Better agenda, in which Manchin insisted on reducing social spending to reduce inflation.

While Senate Democrats resisted revising the social spending bill at first, they recently ended up striking a deal with Manchin under which the government would not fund the radical climate agenda of Biden.
However, even after reaching a deal with other Democrats, Manchin does not want to see a Democratic majority in Congress after the midterm elections.
Speaking on Chuck Todd’s show on NBC, Manchin asserted he is “not making choices” on which party should win the Congress in the 2022 elections.
According to Manchin, Democrats have “great candidates,” but he has a “tremendous amount of respect” for Republican lawmakers as well, so he will be ready to work across the aisle after the elections.

Manchin is Ready to Accept Republican Takeover of Congress
Furthermore, Manchin noted he is unable to decide what happens in other states, so he will be happy to accept “whatever the voters choose.”
Likewise, the senator added that he tries to work with every person who is representing any state of the country in Congress.
This is not the first time Manchin has refused to back his own party in the elections.
Recently, he told former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo that he would see the Republican presidential nominee before announcing his support for Biden in the 2024 presidential elections.
Manchin is grabbing the media attention these days; he appeared on five different TV shows on Sunday: NBC, CNN, ABC, Fox News, and CBS.
While the major focus of his appearances remained the discussion of the revised version of the reconciliation bill, he repeatedly emphasized the need to prefer the country over the political parties.
Manchin noted that people “are sick and tired” of politics, so they want their lawmakers to ignore partisan agendas for the sake of the country.
Meanwhile, Manchin believes that another moderate Democratic senator, Kyrsten Sinema, will also back the highly trimmed version of the social spending bill.
Although Manchin noted he did not discuss the bill with Sinema, he still predicted she would also be “positive about it.”
