Amid the massive surge of migrants at the border, the Biden administration is putting out a call for government volunteers to report for duty. However, many people are asking where the person is appointed to “fix” the ongoing crisis?

As the immigration crisis at the southern border gets more and more overwhelming, Vice President Kamala Harris remains notably silent. This scenario remained even after Biden officially tapped the Vice President on Wednesday to lead the response to the ongoing crisis at the border.

By far, Harris does not have any plans to travel south or even address the ongoing issue at the south.

According to the vice president’s office, Harris does not have any scheduled events this past weekend and made no mention of border-related activity.

Harris remains silent even after the Biden administration asks for government volunteers that could assist with the management of the migrant surge. Fox News confirmed that the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) sent out memos to agency heads looking for “volunteer deployments” for up to 120 days.

A spokesperson from the Office of Personnel Management said, “We are actively working to screen, process, and deploy these volunteers while continuing our recruitment efforts and exploration of other avenues to bolster staff resources at the border.”

The request by the Biden administration comes as border officials have been overwhelmed by the massive influx of migrants at the border. As of Thursday last week, there are over 16,000 unaccompanied children that are in government custody.

While government officials are preparing to volunteer their time to keep the borders safe, the Vice President is currently frustrated with the ongoing renovations that are being made to her mansion. This forced her and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff to stay at Blair Huse temporarily, the President’s official guest quarters.

The office of the Vice President provided no explanation for the alleged renovation delays. Said delays also lead the vice president to have to reportedly live “out of suitcases.” However, the nation continuously questions why she hasn’t planned to pack bags for a border visit.

The Vice President, in fact, laughed while responding to questions if she would be visiting the border amid the developing crisis at the border.

While Harris was on her way to board Air Force One, the Vice President was asked by a reporter if she has plans to visit the southern border as the immigration crisis gets worse.

Harris answered, “not today,” before laughing at the query. She then added that she had visited the border before and would probably go back.

Meanwhile, the Vice President’s communications director refused to answer questions in relation to Harris’ actions in relation to the migrant crisis.

It can be noted that former Vice President Mike Pence set a good precedent on how the office should be run, especially at times of crisis, after being in control of the White House COVID-19 task force and being active in front of the pandemic amid the pandemic.

On the other hand, as Harris and her team continue to dodge questions and turn a blind eye to the ongoing migration crisis, encounters at the border have averaged around 5,000 migrants every day in March. This number is about 50% more compared to last month’s numbers.
