Kamala Harris Calls the Supreme Court’s Integrity Into Question

Towards the end of June, many Democrats were enraged when the Supreme Court gutted Roe v. Wade. Democrats have since used this as a political stepping stone that they hope will spare them from being defeated by the GOP in the midterm elections.

The political left is likewise now claiming the Supreme Court is a far-right institution that doesn’t represent the interests of most Americans.

Since Roe was overturned, Democrats have called for expanding the Supreme Court with left-wing justices as a means of diluting the current conservative majority.

In a recent interview, Vice President Kamala Harris was the latest to go after the highest court in the land and question its integrity, as reported by Newsmax.

Harris on the Integrity of the Supreme Court

During an NBC News interview, the vice president described the Supreme Court as an “activist” one.

Harris then went on to state that Roe v. Wade was an established precedent for nearly 50 years; yet, the Supreme Court threw it out, leading to problems in America today.

The vice president likewise claimed that today’s Supreme Court is very different from the one that existed in the past. Harris then said that by tossing Roe, the Supreme Court attacked privacy rights and women’s rights.

Remarks from Harris echo those of Biden who claimed the decision made by the Supreme Court in June wasn’t one inspired by the Constitution.

The Midterm Elections

Democrats are saying if they win the midterms and expand their congressional majorities, they’ll toss out the Senate filibuster for the sake of making what was once Roe v. Wade federal law.

Biden’s attempted to do a version of this via executive order; however, this doesn’t have the same stay-in power that federal law would have.

Polls show the abortion issue post-Roe has ignited leftist voters. Though it remains to be seen whether that’s enough to keep Republicans from winning the midterms.

Thus far, crime, the economy, and a host of other problems are still impacting the nation. These issues exist in spite of Democrats being fully in control of the federal government.

Republicans continue to maintain that abortion isn’t going to be able to prevent Democrats from losing in November. Furthermore, the GOP is calling on its Democratic counterparts to be honest with the nation about how its leadership has created problems thus far.

Harris’ interview with NBC News also involved her weighing in on the Justice Department potentially bringing charges against former President Trump.

What do you think about the vice president’s comments regarding the Supreme Court? Do you think this is ultimately going to ensure Democrats avoid losing the midterm elections? Please let us know your thoughts about this in the area for comments.
