Huge Sentence Handed Down for January 6 Protester

On January 6, 2021, a large pro-Trump rally spun out of control and over 2,000 people entered the US Capitol illegally. There were clashes between police and the unarmed protesters, as well as tragic deaths that day.

This included Trump supporter and veteran Ashli Babbitt who was gunned down in the halls of the Capitol while unarmed, another Trump supporter who was trampled to death, and Trump supporter Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick, who died several days later from a medical condition.

There were also several other deaths that day not directly related to the drama.

Since this tragic day, the Democrat Party has done its best to call it an “insurrection” and put anyone who even took a selfie or hoisted a flag in jail.

The latest individual is a 40-year-old guy from Maryland by the name of Joshua Pruitt.

Heavy Sentence for Maryland Man

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is part of the apparatus that’s putting J6 protesters behind bars as often as possible and for as long as possible.

As former CIA chief John Brennan said, the entire machinery of the federal government moved into motion with a “laser-like” focus to get everyone punished who took part in the events of that day last year.

DOJ has been handing out convictions like candy. The latest is Pruitt, whose crime was walking into the Capitol building and happening to see geriatric gabbler Senator Chuck Schumer across the room.

For the crime of seeing Schumer and illegally entering the Capitol, he was handed 55 months behind bars and three years of supervised probation.

I can see being handed a sentence like this for laughing at the jokes of “comedian” Amy Schumer, who is Chuck’s cousin once removed.

Though being handed a huge jail term just for seeing Schumer or “encountering” him as the court put it, has been criticized as banana republic nonsense.

What is Pruitt’s Alleged Actual Crime?

To be clear, Pruitt’s crime is allegedly coming close to Schumer and therefore legally “encountering” him. Furthermore, Pruitt is supposedly “affiliated” with the Proud Boys group and thus is especially dangerous and heinous in his breach of the Capitol.

While Schumer was whisked away by heavily armed men, Pruitt came close to him. So now, he has to go to prison for almost five years because he’s expressed support for the Proud Boys and sent them high-five messages online a few times.

Prosecutors said that the sight of unarmed Pruitt walking towards them terrified the senator. It caused his security team to redirect him to get out of the Capitol complex in order to get away from Pruitt.

For those who believe the law is some static, pure principle, they need to understand just how biased and emotional convictions and trials can be.

If a judge doesn’t like you when you come up or takes a personal (or politicized) dislike to things you are involved in, you are very much screwed. That appears to be the case here with Pruitt.
