There were 2,600 uncounted ballots recovered in Georgia, and most of them were for Trump.
On Friday, Georgia began recounting its nearly 5 Million ballots by hand as the Republican party requested a statewide audit. Through the audit and vote recount, election officials discovered that they failed to upload a memory card containing 2,600 ballots, most of which were for Trump.
This problem was said to have occurred due to the failure of election officials to upload a memory card in the ballot-scanning machine.
According to the voting system manager, Gabriel Sterling, “It’s not an equipment issue. It’s a person not executing their job properly.” She further stated, “This is the kind of situation that requires a change at the top of their management side.”
In addition to this, Sterling also called this problem as “an amazing blunder” and went further to call the county’s elections director to resign.

Other than the 2,600 uncounted ballots, more than half of the 5,000 printed out ballots were also not recorded. This issue seems to have occurred after an optical scanner stopped working after being used in the first few weeks of early voting.
When an optical scanner stopped working, election officials were supposed to rescan the ballots. However, more than half of them were not recorded whatsoever.
Luke Martin, chairman of the Floyd County Republican Party stated, “It is very concerning, I’m glad the audit revealed it, and it’s important that all votes are counted. Throughout Georgia’s recount, the uncounted and missing votes are the most significant issue found so far.
Election officials in Georgia, with 159 counties continued to do hand tally of the ballots in the presidential race. This recount process stems from an audit that is required by state law.
State Elections Director, Chris Harvey stated that, before results will be finalized on Friday, the ballots will be rescanned and tabulated.
Harvey further stated, “You want every vote counted right the first time, but that is one of the goals of the audit: to identify problems. All the votes will be uploaded, and the results will be what they are.”
Robert Brady, Floyd County’s election director, did not give any comments nor returned a phone message seeking comment about this case.
Meanwhile, Gabriel Sterling, from the Secretary of State’s office told WSB-TV that these newly counted ballots will give Trump an added 800 votes. However, it still leaves Joe Biden in the lead.

Then at a Monday evening news conference, Sterling called out Robert Brady and asked the election director to step down.
Sterling was quoted stayin, “the secretary of, since this was such an amazing blunder and they had issues in August, would like to see that elections director in Floyd County step down from his position.”
So far, no comment were given by the Floyd Country Board of Elections and Voter Registration.
