On May 17, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) declared that Special Counsel John Durham’s report demonstrates how federal agencies were “weaponized’ against former President Trump.
Gaetz said during an appearance on Newsmax’s “The Right Squad” that Trump was targeted, namely by the Department of Justice and the FBI.

More From Gaetz
On top of that, Gaetz said Durham’s discoveries are an “inferior consequence for the misconduct and criminality we have seen.”
Gaetz is of the view that the Deep State’s campaign was an “operation” to combine anti-Trump political opposition research conducted by Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee with criminal justice and intelligence processes.

“It’s a painful day in America,” Gaetz proclaimed.
He contended if the roles were reversed as far as the parties involved were concerned, the report would have resulted in “significant indictments” of the actors involved.
In light of these developments, Gaetz concluded “the enforcement wing of the Democratic Party is to play offense against Trump.”
With Joe Biden in office, the FBI are “the plumbers.” It is also Gaetz’s view that the FBI is doing the groundwork to ensure that any unsavory information about Joe Biden and/or Hunter Biden gets written off as misinformation.
He was making a reference to the “corrupt” letter signed by 51 former intelligence officials criticizing the October 2020 New York Post story covering Hunter Biden’s laptop.
“It all intertwines jointly and it’s remarkably ugly for our country. It’s actually ugly for the fate of a democracy where the people make the selection, not law enforcement intelligence agencies,” stated Gaetz.
Gaetz was first elected to Congress in 2016. He previously served in the Florida State House from 2010 to 2016.
Since assuming his role in Congress, Gaetz has been one of former President Trump’s strongest defenders and a leading figure in the America First populist movement.
