CNN’s Don Lemon Will No Longer Work Primetime

CNN is under new management that’s eager to fix and rebrand the network. For years, now, CNN’s been widely regarded as a left-wing commentary outlet. Chris Licht, the new CEO of the company, wants to change things up.

A huge part of this change entails making CNN a more objective news outlet that doesn’t completely pander to one side over the other. This has led to some staffers being terminated, while others are getting new roles in the company.

Many of the changes coming from Licht are generating massive backlash from Democratic Americans. These folks were fully content with CNN being overtly leftist and aren’t pleased about this change.

Though as CNN shifts, host Don Lemon is losing his primetime show and will instead be featured in the mornings, according to Townhall.

A New Role For Don Lemon in CNN

Despite the outrage from Democrats on Twitter, CNN’s past pattern of being openly pro-left and anti-right hasn’t been doing the network any favors. As a matter of fact, during just last month alone, Lemon’s primetime show saw a massive decline in ratings.

This is likely a factor in why Lemon’s position in the network will now involve being part of the morning team with Kaitlan Collins and Poppy Harlow.

According to Licht, however, this move of Lemon from primetime to morning is a positive shift. The CEO stated this talent combination will create a state-of-the-art morning program for viewers to tune into.

With the primetime shows of Don Lemon and former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo now gone, it remains to be seen what will be used to fill this gap. However, with Licht running the show, Americans can definitely expect to find out sooner rather than later.

A Statement From Lemon

In a public announcement, Lemon noted he’s enjoyed working primetime for the past eight years, but is excited for the next step.

The CNN news anchor likewise stated he was moved when Licht asked him to join the morning team with Colling and Harlow.

After saying they are both good friends of his, Lemon encouraged people to “set [their] alarms,” saying this new journey with CNN’s morning show is going to be a blast.

Americans can look forward to even more changes coming from CNN. Some workers with the company may be shifted as Lemon was, whereas others may lose their jobs entirely as Stelter did.

Going forward, it’s clear that the CNN of the future isn’t going to be much like its past counterpart.

What do you think about Don Lemon moving to the morning show on CNN, rather than sticking with primetime? You’re more than welcome to let us know your views about this in the comments area.
