Two China policy analysts warned that China would be “quite aggressive” towards the United States as they believe that the communist country does not see Biden as a tough opponent.
According to Gordon Chang, “Well, Biden right now — the Chinese are testing him, but they don’t really have to lift a finger to do this, because he’s giving them everything that they want,” the author of “The Coming Collapse of China,” said on Fox News.
Chang continued and said, “We have seen this, for instance, with joining the Paris accord, rejoining the World Health Organization, his January 26 memorandum on xenophobic attacks, which he blamed President Trump for xenophobia in the United States.” Chang added, “The list goes on and on. And we have really got to be concerned because China is looking right now and thinking it’s going to get everything.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Jonathan Ward, founder of the Atlas Organization and author of “China’s Vision of Victory, told Fox News that China’s actions are rooted in their belief that China is going to “surpass the United States.”
Dr. Ward said, “I think the thing is, they think that they’re going to beat us in this new Cold War, or whatever we want to call it. The contest with China is one that they believe that they will win.”
Ward continued and said that China believes that the Coronavirus has put them in an advantageous position. He added that the communist country for a long time, will turn crisis into an opportunity and strengthen their position in the world economy.

Ward also said that, in a sense, China has already done it and that they were the only major economy to grow in 2020. “They surpassed the U.S. as the leading destination for FDI. And many of our companies are heavily dependent on the China market,” Ward continued.
Ward also added that he believes that the new Biden administration is dealing with an economic contest.
He added, “China knows that, if they become the world’s dominant economy, the rest will fall into place. So, they feel very confident. And they’re going to be quite aggressive. So, the new administration has to be ready for all of that.”
Later in the show, the Fox News host asked Chang about opinions and editorials page from The Global Times, discussing the warning given by a state-run news organization in China, stating that other nations should stay out of China’s business when it comes to territories that it believes it controls, like Taiwan.
Chang answered, “Well, first of all, the Chinese are preparing for war.”
“They issued new amendments to its national defense law, effective the beginning of this year, which allows the Chinese military to mobilize without civilian control,” Chang said.

He added that indeed many people think China bluffing. However, according to history, when countries bluff and threaten war, they usually provoke one. Thus, all of these movements against Taiwan, these warnings against the U.S., are consequential.
China is already adding pressure over Taiwan and continuously pushes other disputed territorial claims from the South China Sea to the Himalayas. If the communist country somehow feels directly challenged on any of these fronts, the Chinese President Xi Jinping will not back down after preparing the public for a combative stance.
Hu Xijin, the Global Times editor, posted a Tweet, “Never underestimate Chinese people’s determination to safeguard national security.” This tweet was written after China commemorates the return of the remains of Chinese soldiers who died in South Korea.
