Chase Bank Refusing to Have Any Business Ties With Kanye West

Earlier this month, rapper Kanye West made headlines when he tweeted about going “Death Con 3” on Jewish folks. This misnomer for “DEFCON 3” followed after West’s frustration with having his Instagram account restricted.

Ironically, West’s Instagram account was limited for posting a chain of text messages alleging that Jewish individuals have widespread control over various people.

Before that, West also sat down with Fox News host Tucker Carlson for an interview.

After West’s “Death Con 3” tweet, he received a lot of uproar, with people condemning his comment as anti-Semitic. Now, Chase Bank has decided to no longer do business with West, as reported by Breitbart News.

What to Know About Chase Cutting Ties With West

JP Morgan Chase sent West a “closing of our banking relationship” notice. This letter informs that Yeezy LLC, along with its related entities, will not longer be dealt with by Chase.

Monday, November 21, 2022 is therefore the deadline that Chase is giving West to remove all his funds from their bank. In addition to this, Chase also advised the rapper to halt transactions and various products linked to his accounts by Monday, November 14.

Finally, Chase informed West that if he doesn’t remove all funds from his accounts, the bank will do it for him and mail a check to the address he has on file.

This action from JP Morgan Chase appears to be motivated by West’s anti-Semitic comments on social media.

More Fallout to Come?

In the wake of various scandals surrounding West, Adidas has come out and said its business relationship with the rapper is under review. As it stands today, it remains to be seen if other companies attached to West and his businesses choose to sever ties with him.

Time will also tell whether or not West ends up regaining access to his Instagram or Twitter accounts. As it stands today, a lot of West’s critics are putting pressure on social media companies to completely keep the rapper off of their platforms.

Thus far, Kanye West has yet to publicly respond to Chase Bank cutting ties with him. Though with the rapper being currently restricted on Twitter and Instagram, his access to platforms to share his views is limited.

Some supporters of West have taken to social media to criticize Chase for no longer doing business with him. Others raised questions about which dominos could be next to fall.

Critics of the rapper, on the other hand, opined that Chase is within its rights to cut ties with him.

What do you make of Chase Bank declining to do business with Kanye West after his tweets about Jewish individuals? Do you believe other establishments involved with the rapper will eventually choose to sever ties with him as well?
