Last month, in Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) appealed to President Joe Biden for assistance in dealing with the “humanitarian crisis” at the border because of the administration’s policies.
Again, on Monday, Biden turned down her request for assistance. From Arizona and Texas, about 7,000 migrants have been transported by bus to the country’s capital.
Compared to the over 1.4 million migrants caught attempting to cross the southern border unlawfully and cleared into the United States, that’s a drop in the ocean.
DACA
Migrants pouring across the southern border have pressing needs, including nutrition, housing, medical attention, and, in many cases, formal education.
The Washington Examiner revealed over the weekend that the Biden administration arrested and released 257,110 unchaperoned migrant minors.
This exceeds the numbers of children caught and released during the administrations of Barack Obama and Donald Trump.

An ex-Border Patrol agent, Rudy Karisch, pointed out a problem the current government is creating without even recognizing it: the next generation of DACA recipients.
The new generation is being made while they are still trying to figure out what to do with the old one, he said.

Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program went into effect ten years ago on Friday.
Obama’s reckless decision to grant working visas and legal status to people who entered the nation as children before 2012 prompted conservatives to repeat their warnings that this will only lead to an even bigger influx of kids into the United States.
Sure enough, that’s what ended up occurring.
Plans?
Over 700,000 family units have been admitted into the nation under Title 8 on top of the 257,110 unescorted youngsters Biden apprehended and let into the U.S.
There are adults among them (a mother and her two children apprehended while trying to cross would count as three persons), but the Biden administration is unlikely to deport a mother of two minors already in the country.
It’s unlikely any of the refugees Biden is letting go have legitimate claims for asylum. Most originate from four countries: El Salvador, Honduras, Haiti, and Guatemala.
Asylum was granted to only 20% of Salvadorans, 19% of Guatemalans, 18% of Hondurans, and 18% of Haitians in a database that followed asylum cases through 2021.
What, then, is the Biden administration going to do with all the asylum-seekers it has already rejected? Will he begin mass deportations by rounding them up?
In a year with an election, will Biden declare more unlawful mass amnesty in the last months preceding the election or will he follow in Obama’s footsteps and do nothing?
Democrats, who staked their political careers on the slogan “nobody is above the law,” should pause to contemplate the damage they are inflicting to the country’s social fabric by repeatedly refusing to enforce immigration laws.
