Biden Criticized for Calling Trump Supporters “Ugly Folks”

Joe Biden was flocked by criticism after calling President Trump’s supporters “ugly folks.”

On Friday, in a rally in St. Paul, Minnesota, Joe Biden talked to his supporters about what Dr. Fauci said about wearing masks. The Democratic nominee was quoted saying, ” Dr. Fauci called for a mask mandate last week. This isn’t a political statement like those ugly folks over there, beeping the horn. This is a patriotic duty for God’s sake!”

He uttered this statement less than a minute after he stated that the country needs a President who will bring Americans together instead of pulling them apart. 

Just like the other campaign rallies that Joe Biden has been hosting, this rally and St. Paul, Minnesota, was also a drive-in rally, and there were only a small group of people who were invited to attend. It was reported that the drive-in all only sent invitations to a small group of people, and the details were sent out to a few party activists. In the parking lot where it was held, the cars can be seen as socially distanced as well, where they have parked 10 feet to 20 feet apart. 

Meanwhile, outside of the venue where Biden held his rally, there was a crowd of supporters by President Trump who has gathered and was waving their flags and displaying signages that shows how they support the Republican candidate. 

President Trump and Joe Biden campaigned in three heartland states. Through their course, they highlighted their indifference towards each other and criticized each other. 

President Trump heralded a big day of campaign events as he left the White House to attend a rally in Michigan. Afterward, he also hosted campaign rallies in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Biden likewise also stumped in Wisconsin and Minnesota and hosted the third drive-in rally in Iowa. 

Joe Biden was also heard channeling his speech to the former President, John F. Kennedy’s man on the moon, as he continued to promise to lead Americans out of this coronavirus pandemic and end economic hardship and racial injustice.

He also acknowledged the country’s current state of the division again promised to reunite the country. He echoed the same message of his former colleague, Barack Obama, by saying, “We choose hope over fear. We choose unity over division. Science over fiction. Truth over lies. And yes, honor and integrity overlying,”

Joe Biden’s remarks: “chumps” and “ugly folks”

These remarks made by Joe Biden accused him of repeating the same remarks that Hillary Clinton made in her 2016 campaign, saying the infamous words “basket of deplorables.”

These remarks by Joe Biden was then noticed by social media users where one tweeted, “I guess calling those who support a different political candidate ‘chumps and ugly folks’ is a step up from ‘deplorables,”

Meanwhile a radio host also criticized the remarks made by Joe Biden, calling Trump supporter “ugly folks.”

Derek Hunter, a radio host mocked Joe Biden’s statements in a tweet, writing in Biden’s voice, “I will end the name-calling and bring the country together, unlike those ugly folks over there, those chumps who disagree with me. They probably work in the oil and gas industry and are whining that I’m going to put them out of work. Oh well, screw them.”

Jason Lewis, a Republican nominee for the United States in Minnesota, challenged Joe Biden to call himself a candidate “who will bring us together, not pull us apart” and then afterward insults his supporters’ rivals.
