America’s Teachers Are in Danger Like Never Before

Teachers play a vital role in American society. They are responsible for educating the next generation and helping to provide them with the necessary skills to succeed in the world.

Without teachers, countless young people would be without critical support structures. This is especially true for children with special needs who are reliant on teachers who specialize in this area.

Unfortunately, the United States has been struggling with a teacher shortage in recent years. One factor fueling this shortage is the notoriously low pay that teachers receive for the critical work they do.

Now, breaking news for the Wall Street Journal is shining light on yet another concerning issue that involves our nation’s teachers.

An Increasingly Unsafe Profession

In a disturbing turn of events, teachers are increasingly finding themselves on the receiving end of violence from the very students they’re responsible for educating. This is escalating over time, hence putting teachers in a situation where they’re at risk simply by doing their jobs.

There are numerous reports of teachers attempting to break up fights between students, only for the students to later turn on the teachers. Certain teachers are even getting into physical fights with young people who attack them first.

Needless to say, this doesn’t bode well for the future. It also raises questions about what’s happening with young people to make them comfortable enough to lash out in this manner.

A National Crisis

If teachers are continuously put in physical danger like this, society should prepare for even more to quit their jobs. It’s not reasonable to expect educators to put themselves at risk of injury when they go to work each day.

Right now, physical altercations between teachers and students are going viral on social media, with more people speaking out about the negative implications of this.
