On Thursday former President Trump revealed that he is 100% thinking about running again for President in 2024 election. He also added that he would “certainly” consider Ron DeSantis as his running mate.

During an exclusive interview on “Mornings with Maria” on Thursday, former President Trump made comments about Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, noting that DeSantis is a “friend of mine” and “a great guy.”

Trump continued, “I endorsed Ron and after I endorsed him he took off like a rocket ship. He’s done a great job as governor.”

The former president also talked about his platform for a potential 2024 run which would include the border, tax increase, the energy industry, and protecting the Second Amendment.

During the interview, Trump also criticized Biden for excluding the ongoing border crisis from his first address.

When host Maria Bartiromo asked Trump of what “struck” him about Biden’s speech last Wednesday night, Trump said, “He didn’t discuss the border.”

Trump also added that “tens of thousands of people are pouring into our country” at “a level that has never been seen before.” He mentioned that those “pouring into” the U.S. include criminals and that the Biden administration “is doing absolutely nothing” to stop them.

“It’s out of control,” Trump said. He also warned that if the situation persists, “it will destroy our country.”

When a White House spokesperson was asked for comments about the matter, they did not immediately respond.

It can be noted that Biden scrapped a series of Trump’s immigration policies. This includes the construction of the border wall, having asylum seekers to remain in Mexico instead of being in the U.S. while they await for their cases to be heard. This move made by Biden led to a recird high influx of migrants at the borders, including thousands of unaccompanied minors that has overwhelemed immigration facilities in the past few weeks.

Trump emphasized that the Biden administration have to finish the wall. The former president also noted that the border wall “would have been completed if I didn’t get sued by Congress and the Democrats every single moment.”

The former president also pointed out that the “Remain in Mexico” policy that was implemented under his administration was “a great thing.” However, the Biden administration “gave it up” and “now everyone is pouring into our country.”

“The border has to be brought back to where I had it,” Trump emphasized on Thursday. “We had it the best in the history of our country.”

On top of this, the former president also criticized Biden’s energy policies, taking note that the U.S. was energy independent for the first time and that the country will “not going to be energy independent in a couple of months.”

Trump said, “Your gasoline prices, look what’s happening to them. They’re going up, through the roof in a short period of time. I had them down below $2 and we still had a strong energy industry. Now they’re [the Biden administration is] laying everybody off.”

Trump also pointed to Biden’s energy actions which includes the cancelation of the Keystone XL oil pipeline project.

According to a study made by the State Department, there were 26,100 indirect and direct jobs that would have been created by the Keystone XL pipeline project, through its construction and supply chain that provides lodging, food, and health care to workers in small towns across several states.
